Job description

We have partnered with a leading omnichannel retailer in the UAE to appoint a Head of Data. This business operates across physical and digital channels, generating rich data across customer behaviour, inventory, supply chain and commercial performance. The opportunity is to bring that data together, make it trustworthy and turn it into something the business uses to compete.


This role suits a seasoned data leader who can set strategy, shape technical direction and build a function that delivers real commercial value across a complex retail organisation.


About the role:

  • Define and lead the data strategy, aligning capability with commercial priorities across physical and digital channels
  • Build and scale a data function spanning engineering, analytics, data science and governance
  • Own the architecture and evolution of the data platform, ensuring it supports advanced analytics and AI use cases at scale
  • Drive the development of a unified customer view connecting online and offline behaviour across the full retail journey
  • Establish data governance frameworks and quality standards that make data trustworthy across the organisation
  • Partner with commercial, marketing, supply chain and technology leadership to embed data-driven decision making at every level


About you:

  • 12 or more years of experience in data leadership, with a track record of building and scaling data functions within complex organisations
  • Deep understanding of the retail data landscape including customer analytics, merchandising, supply chain and omnichannel measurement
  • Strong technical grounding across cloud data platforms, data modelling and analytics infrastructure, with experience in tools such as Snowflake, Databricks or dbt
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams across engineering, analytics and data science disciplines
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to connect data initiatives directly to revenue, margin and customer outcomes
  • Credible at C-Suite level with strong stakeholder management skills
